What does it take to become an ICT Student?

From the Far East to the modernized Western Countries, computers are slowly penetrating the local scene as a vital object where we store our files, do our documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and get knowledge from.  Computers truly are significant tools in the development of our educational system and even our country.
So what is ICT? ICT or Information and Communications Technology in education deal with the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) within educational technology.
The main purpose of ICT in education means implementing of ICT equipment and tools in teaching and learning process as a media and methodology. The purpose of ICT in education is generally to familiarise students with the use and workings ofcomputers, and related social and ethical issues. ICT has also enabled learning through multiple intelligence as ICT has introduced learning through simulation games; this enables active learning through all senses.
To become an ICT student, of course a person must simply know how to start, operate and use a computer. One must also be able to familiarize thyself to the ever advancing technologies of our current world. To be an ICT student one must always be open to change and learning something new. A student must also learn to communicate through speaking, listening and writing (through blogs) to be able to fully utilize the amazing things that ICT can do for each person.
Furthermore, a student must be optimistic about the things happening around him. Optimism greatly enhances the learning ability and the spectrum of knowledge that a student can gain through ICT. Being optimistic let's us overcome hard tasks that we have to tackle such as new lessons, projects, assignments and activities that we can truly say are above average when it comes to their hardness.
One must also be patient. As they say, patience is a virtue. Having patience can greatly enhance the chance of a person to succeed in his goals. Again, this helps in the learning ability of a student in ICT. There will always come a time wherein we need to truly study and comprehend a lesson or an activity. To fully understand this activity one must have the patience to study, try and practice this activity to enhance his knowledge in that given field.
So are you ready to become an ICT student? Do you have what it takes? Only you can know... :)

My Dream, My Future

The future is a horizon filled with innumerable possibilities and unthinkable what-ifs. What may happen, only depends on what we do with ourselves. But one thing for sure will happen, no matter how hard this moment may be, no matter how much we wish time will stop, the future will come and the present will pass.
What do you plan to do with your life? me, there is an indefinite number of possibilities that come to mind. But I dream to be someone who is successful, driven, financially stable, have children but most of all become happy and content.
I have this echoing passion for the arts. But in a way that's different from the likes of DaVinci and Picaso. In a way I want to become a designer, an interior and fashion designer to be exact. It may be different, but that is what I want to achieve in life.
But most of all, I have this unstoppable dream, this passion that keeps me in hoping, yearning and pursuing it. i want to start my own fashion merchandise, a brand that I can proudly call my own. The lovechild of my dreams and my hard work. A business that is conceived in my mind, molded upon my hands and carried upon my shoulders. I would swim the deepest oceans, climb the highest mountains, and move gigantic boulders to achieve it. I will work hard to have that one thing that I truly want.
I might be young but I'm driven, I might not be strong enough but I'll strive, I might be 1 in billions but I'll yearn.
I have already sorted out some of the things I'll do to start my business. i will be in partnership with two of my friends, Faye and Faith,, of course I would be the CEO and Creative Director. I have already designed apparel such as dresses, gowns, shoes and bags. I have done the label namely "F-Label" and the design of it. To help protect our world only recycled and reusable garments and raw materials will be used. TO help our economy, the workforce of the whole company will be composed of Filipinos, moreover those who belong to the poverty line and want to enhance their lives. All the raw materials and items to be used will be from our own country.
In a way it is a proudly Filipino brand that shows the best of Filipino ingenuity, talent and skill as well as creativity and love of nature.
As I said the future is a sea of indefinite, innumerable possibilities. our dreams, may be big but without hard work, we will achieve nothing. I understand that my dream may be big, that the possibility of achieving it is scarce, but the future is where we are going, there is always a tomorrow that comes our way, giving us new hope and perseverance to strive, yearn, and work hard. To achieve what we aim for.
The future is where we are going, what may come only depends on what we do. It might not be a highway leading directly to where we want to be, it might become a rocky path that we need to painstakingly travel, but for what I want to be and behold, I'll conquer this treacherous  paths to collect my bounty.
For the future, I will do my best, for my dreams, I will work hard, for the endless possibilities, I will hope.

Kannawidan: The Ylocos Festival

The province of Ilocos Sur has recently celebrated its Kannawidan Ylocos Festival. This year marks the province’s 194th year based on the Royal Decree dated February 2, 1818 separating Ilocos Sur from Ilocos Norte. Prior to this date, the stretch of Bangui in Ilocos Norte down to Luna La Union is called Ylocos which is a term to refer to the coastal inhabitants. It literally meant “from the lowlands”.
Kannawidan is a week long fiesta celebrated at the heart of Ilocandia, Vigan City. Here different products of the different towns of Ilocos are shown and sold. Not only for monetary reasons, these products such as vegetables, other food and handicrafts are showcased to give knowledge about the different products that can be found in Ilocandia. In a way, Kannawidan is a festival that showcases the best of Ilocano craftsmanship and creativity. Not only that, Kannawidan festival hosts some events such as Siglat Ylocandia and other shows and contests for students and adults alike.

New Year, New Me :)

In the cotext of new year's resolutions, i have never ever tried to make or even consider changing a part of me all because of the New Year jollies and going with the flow.

But as years pass by, i discovered that making new year's resolutions is not such a bad thing after all. But even so, my timid and stubborn personality did not permit me to do so.

But this year i strive to make a change. I will try to fix the cracks of my life, i will build bridges to connect those people who matter, i will strive to bring the best out of me, to release the hidden enigma that is resting in me. This year i will change those things that weakens me, keep thise that strengthens me, and discover things that would bless me. This year i will strive to he who i really am. This year i will make a change.

The True Essence of Christmas

Wherever you are in the world, whatever continent, one would know the time of the year called Christmas. The moment where our Savior Jesus Christ was born in a manger in Bethlehem well over two thousand years ago.
Through the years, humans have been celebrating and considering Christmas as the time of the year when we get gifts and money, where lanterns and lights fill up the streets, where fireworks and firecrackers are the only things we see and hear in the streets and the sky. But is this the true essence of Christmas? Is this the reason why we celebrate this joyous occasion we call Christmas?
This must change. Christmas is not about the gifts, or the money we get, or the jolly making. It's about sharing what we have, giving our love, and being with people who mean the world to us. This is what Christmas is all about. When we give gifts, it does not need to be extravagant nor does it need to be expensive, all we need is something that came from the heart, something we don't regret giving. The biggest gift we can give is our lobe and our time. nothing else comes close to these two. Christmas is also a time that we need to realize and cherish the unending, unconditional love that jesus, our Father have given and is continually giving to us.
Friends, let us all get together and cherish this wondrous occasion. This joyous festivity is not for the shimmering lights, loud bangs, and the gifts, it is for the love, for the family and for the remembrance of our Lord Jesus Christ. Let us spend this short awaited time with the ones we love, because in the end of the day, they will be the ones who will stick with us through thick and thin, and this is the true meaning of Christmas.

Move! Speak! Make a Change...

In a world full of one-sided opinions and stereotypical thinking, can we still set better standards and advocate change for betterment? Can we move, speak and yield the people of our community and country to do what is right, what is just and what is beneficial not just for their selves but for the world around us also?
My, friend, there are a lot of vices, limitations and influences that urge us to do things that may have irreversible actions that may push permanent damage to human and non-human inhabitants to the world that we live in.
Make a move. Actions speak louder than words. Show your actions that are contrary to the stereotypical beliefs. Yearn to be different. yearn to do things that are beneficial yet sustainable for our earth and its inhabitants. If you must be taunted, suffer, if you are teased, don't mind, for if you do follow you'll achieve more than what they can do, give and sacrifice. You'll make change, you'll make difference, you'll be one of those few who stood up and did not go with the flow.
Speak up! Words might not hurt you physically, but they can leave permanent marks to the mind, to the heard and to our lives. Words are mental torture objects if we know how to, they'll leave scars to the soul far greater that what physical pain may give.  Speaking is one of the most powerful tools that people use. Speech and communication are boundless and limitless. use it, practice itm speak it. Advocate change through your words. Don't follow what others may say to you that are contrary to our goal of difference and betterment. Speak up for a better humanity, speak up for a more powerful advocacy, speak up for difference and change.
