My Teacher, My Hero
Imagine a world full of students without any teacher, a world that would not move forward, a world that has no innovation, a world that's degrading.
Right from our infant years, our teachers have been there abiding by us, teaching us the simplest words such as mama and papa, or the simplest tricks like close-open, or even the simplest songs like ABCD.
When we entered our schooling years, different teachers began teaching us reading, writing, adding, subtracting and coloring. Then they moved on to teaching us Biology, Physics, Biotechnology, Advanced Statistics, Chemistry and Calculus. From the basics to the advanced, our teachers have been there with us every step of the way. Not that I am all grown up, I kind of wonder how our teachers were able to teach very active, inattentive and confusing students to stop, listen and understand. I wonder how they are able to come to school everyday even when they are not required to just to help their students in extracurricular activities. I am amazed on how committed they are to what they are doing, how they can sacrifice their own time to make lesson plans and check their students' papers.
Teachers, the sole reasons to why mere students get educated and become important people in their own communities. The secret to each persons success is their teachers. The ones who did not give up when their students are not studying, are failing and who gave up on their lives and their futures.
I remember how Ma'am Cacal stayed with me in school for 3 vacation days just to give me and administer my periodical tests because I was absent for a regional contest when my classmates had them. She even gave me food to eat out of he own money without expecting something back.
It was then I realized how lucky I am. How i have a workforce of teachers behind me, ready to help and support me in every step I take to reach my goals.
Thank you Teachers, for being there right beside us, your students even when we make you angry, even when we hurt your feelings, even when your salary is insufficient to support yourselves, even when everyone else has given up on us.You help us, you teach us, you mold us to who we want to be. Thank you dear teachers, thank you!
